We are a group of Christians who have gathered as a local church since 1995; we have recently moved from Bethel, CT back to Edmond Town Hall in Newtown, CT. We meet weekly on Sunday for worship, Bible study, and prayer, and on Tuesday at 7:00 PM for 1 hour of prayer and bible study (virtually). It is our desire to grow in love for our God, to make Him central in all that we do, to encourage one another in the faith through love as the Lord commanded1, and to spread the good news of forgiveness of sins through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We desire to implement the New Testament’s pattern for the local church as faithfully as possible: we have no salaried minister or pastor, but rather a plurality of elders who are pastors2; we have been blessed with teachers3 gifted by the Lord; and we encourage every believer to use their gifts to help others become more like our living Savior, Jesus Christ4.
Independent of any governing organization, denomination, or church creed, we hold to the Bible as our only authority in doctrine and practice. We have no denominational affiliation because we wish to honor the Lord’s desire to display the unity of all true believers5. If you are interested in the details of what we believe, please see our Statement of Faith.
